I used to get very anxious for dessert because it’s my favorite part of the meal, but I would never know what an appropriate serving size is. So…..then I would take the biggest piece possible, eat it all, feel super full, and then feel guilty for knowing I ate way too much. Does this sound familiar?
A serving size of dessert should fit in the palm of your hand. This guideline will help make sure that you are having an adequate amount of dessert to enjoy while not eating an unnecessary amount of calories in one sitting.
Remember, you are having the dessert to enjoy the great taste, not to stuff yourself full with it. The same great taste can still be enjoyed with a proper portion size.
